Test - The Habanero pepper was feared for many years because of what was thought to be intense heat. It is among the hottest peppers and ranks somewhere between 100,000 and 350,000 Scoville heat units. The outer wall of the habanero is relatively thin and even though it is hot, it has a nice fruit-like flavor and distinguishing flowery aroma. Although the habanero is hot, it is readily available and remains one of the most popular of the hot chili peppers. As the pepper ripens, it turns red, orange and yellow.
